Portfolio > 21 Paintings, 21 Years

I painted these pictures to help CCP celebrate their 21st birthday and thier Musical Youth project which helps creative young musicians in the local area realise thier musical potential. These oil paintings were first shown at Parabola Arts Centre at the Musical Youth birthday concert and recently had another viewing at The Art Gallery and Museum in Cheltenham.

All the money raised will be spent on buying new instruments for the young people to learn to play on.

The 21st Birthday celebration was about music and how music can change lives, both of those that listen to it and of those that perform, write or record it. As an artist I know how important creativity can be in all its expected forms, through music, art or dance, in young people’s lives.

The importance of the unexpected, and harder to define, creativity of thought and activity is what personifies CCP as an organisation and its problem solving ethos. It is the combination of both forms of creativity that I am looking forward to seeing on stage this evening.

I am very pleased to be able to support CCP’s Musical Youth project by making this special series of musical instrument paintings and I hope together we can raise some money to support the musicians who use the facilities.
